The project’s inspiration

If it’s true that the kitchen “Makes the home”, as we say in italy, the bedroom is the space of intimacy and freedom. A space where conscious and unconscious mix, so that who we really are will emerge, leaving out everything else. Thinking about the furnishing of a bedroom means to me the necessity of grabbing the essence of people, in their intimacies. This is the mindset that guided me while working on the project for Diletta and Dorotea’s bedroom. The mezzanine is the solution that best represents this approach, useful for optimizing the spaces in the room but also for following the Cycle of awake and asleep, conscious and unconscious, in a harmonious overall context.

One space, two identities

I worked on the main furnishings of the room in the same spirit. In fact, the girls’ beds are personalized thanks to a metal mesh cover, to which their names are applied. A complex process, made simple thanks to the collaboration with Siderio, a young team involving custom carpentry. The graphics I had designed were not simple to do and I didn’t have a single solution in mind, but during the engineering of the project these young artisans helped me to improve the original concept of the bed and to find a solution.

After the project was finished, I still remember the eyes full of gratitude of diletta and dorotea’s parents, who put into my hands the environment where their children would grow up in. What a responsibility… and what a joy to be part of a project to which the most intimate memories from their childhood will be linked. They say about me: Creative. Original. Visionary. Precise. Full of resources. They can all come down to one sentence: the spaces, thanks to her, can get new, magnificent shapes and identities!!! Would I repeat this experience? Absolutely yes! A hint: put aside the desire to have ‘everything right now’, like with the best of artisans… You know, hurry is never a good Idea and elena loves to reflect on things to find the right idea.
